JLW were appointed to by Etihad Airways as the MEP Diversion works contractor for the diversion of major infrastructure services which were required to complete the construction of their headquarters and flight simulation and training academy in Abu Dhabi.

The works included the diversion of the existing live chilled water and fire hydrant underground piped systems. The systems where required to remain live during the diversion works which required JLW to develop an intricate shutdown plan, in co-ordination with Etihad Airways, which included liquid nitrogen pipe freezing of existing services at the point of diversion.

JLW deployed large teams working 24/7 shifts for a period of 2 days (during the Eid public holidays) to ensure the diversion works were completed quickly and without causing any disturbance to Etihad’s existing operations.
